Ok..I have an issue..maybe it's trivial..but here goes:

Some years ago when I first signed up to endorse Parker I had an idea to use the "suatanic" pickup on a Parker. I can't remember the Artist Relations guy at the time..(2001)..But nonetheless, I didn't even "get" a guitar till a few years after when I started dealing with another rep.

Anyhow, earlier this year I saw Adrian Belew's Signature Parker and it has the feature I had suggested.. http://www.theninhotline.net/archives/news.images/Adrian_Belew_Signature.jpg

So is it because of who he is or would you say that Adrian is more worthy of a "signature" Parker than I am? What sort of politics goes into that anyways?  I have a custom dragonfly with Seymore Duncans..Isn't that special enough to be my "signature" Parker and I get featured on the site?..

Hey, Just inquiries here.. Still love parker..Great guitars all around, great design, playability and tones..

Interesting... Why would you think there was any 'politics' involved?

Someone at Parker owns these decisions (as well as the budget that they have to use for promotion) and for whatever reason they made the decisions they did. If you don't like their decisions, I would suggest to either work with them or move on.

I think that it's not all that useful for any human to really contemplate what their worthiness is compared to others. I just don't think there are any answers there that one could use or do anything with except to be disappointed in a subjective resulting understanding. I guess it all depends on what Parker asks of artists for their endorsement, if it's just a matter of getting free gear/support for playing Parkers, then I think artists are getting something for nothing - sounds like a good deal to me: But, I know if I had to do promotional stuff, I would indeed want to be compensated appropriately.

I agree with what mjtron said.

Don't take it personally.

Most likely it has to do with who is most movin anda shakin at the time and who is most positioned to tour around in the lime light espousing the benefits of Flydum.

Sponsorship and signature models are not just about talent or worth. Its all about selling guitars.

Can't fault them for that. Its what they're here for.

Another artist came on here recently all peeved that their marvelous talents weren't awarded by the signature Fly they were reportedly promised. So you are not alone. Best to just play on and if it happens, it happens. If not, you are lucky enough to have discovered (and own) a great instrument, right?

I'm not raggin on ya. Sounds like you actually have a pretty good attitude about it all. And a real life to boot.

And sure it stinks if someone says they will do something and then doesn't follow through. But they have changed hands, changed cities,  changed employees, changed hands again, had production bumps yada yada. And on top of all that, it is the music industry. The only reliable thing there is that its completly unreliable. Are you really surprised?

Be thankful for your talent. Keep plugging along and they will find you. Or not . But you will be rocking either way you lucky dog.[8D]

Hey, Thanks guys...I Dig...It's all good..Marketing and all...selling guitars....Ps_com, I've played in "famous" reggae bands..Shaggy, Jimmy Cliff and some other less known worldwide but popular in the Reggae circuit. But I know how it is - Rock is the biggest selling genre (I've heard).
I'm not mad at all..I bought my first parker in '99 and got artist pricing on my artist fly in 2002, a P38 for free that same year and recently the dragonfly at artist price..I am truly grateful. Lovin parker guitars,..- ALWAYS!!

Merry Christmas y'all..Enjoy the weekend!

Parker certainly needs more artists like yourself. Your stuff is great! You got my vote!!

Perhaps they need you more than you need them, either way I hope things work out.

You know it doesn't matter who endorses the guitar, all that tells you is that the artist likes the brand and not necessarily that the brand is thier fav guitar ie Randy Rhoads recorded with Les Paul, Slash uses copy (imo better les paul), and most artist guitars are modded anyway so when you buy the Ibanez Joe Satrianni 20th Anniversary your getting a good paint job.I would ask for a custom from parker fly like without the horn like a single cutaway but with funk and call ityour own then when time comes you got your one of one and they will ask you to endorse it and put it into production, Everyone using these sustainiacs, Satrianni, Belew, Via etc, man listen to Gary moore pull some sustain off of a les paul for like one minute on one note thats the  8)way its done, be yourself create your own custom that you want and be happy. Peace and good playig btw
