Confirmed - no carbon, as explained by BillyT on page one of the detailed pre-release thread:

http://forums.parkerguitars.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=10631

He also mentions some of the distinctions between the US and import versions.

Regarding the price, watch the video again and pause it at 1:29.  Unless that's a typo, one of these models (the import?) is going to be very affordable.

Re-checked the video.

From what I can see, there are several normal DF bolt-ons...
[0:58] Root Beer / Brown Dragonfly bolt-on - 1,499.00
[1:05] Cherry Burst Dragonfly bolt-on - 1,999.00
[1:13] Tangerine Dragonfly bolt-on - 1,799.00

And what seems to be the DF P-series...
[1:30] Blue Burst Dragonfly Bolt-on - 599.00 (model number "PDF60B")
[1:52] Ruby Red Dragonfly Bolt-on - 599.00
[1:55] White Dragonfly Bolt-on - 599.00

In any case, beautiful stuff! And I'm very surprised by the price tags, no idea if those are special NAMM prices though. The PDF60B looks like one of the hottest guitars you can get for 599.00 and I wouldn't have suspected the other ones to be under 2,000.00 - interesting enough. I'm just curious what they'll charge for the full-blown high-end non-bolt-on DF (not talking about VR and AD signatures).

Greetings...
Nef

If that's all true (about the pricing and the P-series Dragon bolt-ons) then Parker clearly didn't get the message we were trying to send during the last factory tour that they're screwing up in their product line marketing.  Consumers don't want the low end stuff to look identical to the high end stuff.  In fact car makers (and other manufacturers) have gone so far as to introduce completely separate brands to differentiate their low end models from their luxury stuff.  All they've done is add to the confusion and taken away from the "mystique" of owning the better quality high end products.

Parker Marketing = fail (they just don't understand the typical consumer).  Am I wrong?

I'm not saying you're wrong... but here's a highly successful counter-argument: Fender's mid-80's to present product line is a mix of instruments that are visually indistinguishable between the low-mid to upscale models. The plus to Fender's model is that each price-point has its advantages and value for the end-user.

The Proto you guys played during the tour is what
I was trying to make. What is in the video is what we ended up with. TYhis is a very cool line up, but I was reaching even lower fore the entry level.

Terry,

Are the $600 bolt-on Dragonfly's available?  If so, what do I tell my dealer to order (model #).  I am assuming these will be equivalent to what we played (the proto) during the tour.

Thanks.

They will be imports for $600 with no piezo. I will have the model numbers soon. They are under construction now and will be arriving in March. I have seen a sample, and they are executed well.
