I first heard Larry in the 80's.  I was introduced to him by my guitar teacher at the time.  I have never stopped listening to him since.  I love his fluid style and the feeling he has in his playing.  He is a true guitarist's guitarist. [:)]  Now if I had just 1 tenth of his talent, I would be a very happy man!

I love Larry as well.  I have all his albums.  My favorite is On Solid Ground which was recorded after he recovered from being shot in the head at his studio...Room 335.  I also think that the best Steely Dan ever sounded was when Larry was with them.  Terrific guitarist!

Not sure anyone knows to this day.  He was at home and saw 2 kds walk past with a dog.  Next thing he knows they were at his door.  He went to answer it and one of them pulled a gun and shot him in the neck.  He lost complete use of his left arm and hand.  It took a few months of physio to build it back up again.

He talks about it on the Carlton Lukather DVD and the amazing thing is he doesn't seem bitter, he is just grateful to be still alive, and so are we, it would have been a great loss.  Just glad he is still playing and producing great music.
