I'm suprised no one has meantioned him here yet.  He's an excellent jazz guitarist with unique and brilliant ideas in both music and the way the guitar is played.

Charlie Hunter is amazing.  Thanks for bringing him up.  Unfortunately, he's not as widely known as some other players in the industry...but he's a MONSTER!

Thanks tvadakia for reminding me of him...now I have to go and dig up his recordings in my collection.

Oh yeah, I love Charlie Hunter. I have several of his CDs. But, I don't think he'd ever play a Parker unless it had 8-strings and was similar to the guitars he uses now... [;)]

I love his music.  The man is a beast.  It has been a long time since a guitarist has made me glued to my seat in awe.

I got to see him play in Iowa City, Iowa a a few years ago... I was BLOWN AWAY.  I've been a fan ever since.

I even haven't thought of him recently 'till I saw an album of his in Best Buy of all places.  I went home and started digging out his works and stumbled upon Tommy Emmanuel and started listening to him again as well.

The first time I ever saw Charlie was on BET. I thought "hey, this is pretty cool stuff. Where's the bass player?" Then I realized he was doing both the guitar and bass lines. That's when I had to go and get "Bing Bing Bing". [8D]
