I really  like 10s for the Artist and Concert (D'Addario). Dunno if it's because of the spruce, but it's a nice tone with them. Pretty guitar btw! [8D]

Thanks for the comments on the video!

Just got home from an Adrian Belew solo concert. Really inspiring.

@danjazzny: funny that the knobs and switches are reversed on your guitar. Isn't the volume knob to far away for you?

The knobs and switches are just fine for me either way. I'm not playing out, just at home. [:)]

What is besides the body woods and the finishes the difference between an Fly Artist and a Fly classic. All electronics, pickups and hardware are the same. Why is an Artist so much more expensive? I have read about the tonal difference between the Fly models. So that is not what I am asking. Just curious.

(sorry for the the newby question. The Artist is my first and only Parker that I have played)

There is no significant manufacturing / supply cost difference. The extra cost is essentially one of creating customer desire or taking advantage of that desire and then charging for the extra exclusiveness they create by limiting production numbers for that model and calling it more custom. Its a ploy commonly used. We keep making the mistake of thinking people are in the business of making guitars. They are not. They are in the business of making money. Just so happens they do that by making guitars. You can't blame them for creating stratagies to make more money. Its what all US companies do.

ok, clear.
I thought it was more expensive because the spruce wood is more exclusive or something. And that the guitar is more custom made with more personal attention etc.

Anyway, here is one more last video with the Artist I made a few months ago. Don't want to bash you with my videos but maybe it is nice for someone who wants to know how that guitar sounds:

Nice sound:  A question: on the video, I hear both a plucked part and a swell.  Is the plucked part just the noise of the strings being picked up by the mic in the room or is it actually the electric guitar sound also going through the UD?  Beautiful playing, BTW.

I only used the build in mic of my Imac for those videos. Not a great sound, but good enough. I can't play too loud at my home, so what you hear is the picking of the acoustic string sound.
The other sound is just the UD stomp going in a small Aria practice bass amp, nothing fancy.

Sounded great to me.  And I loved the shimmer of the acoustic on top.
