Thanks, I guessed it had left Parker HQ, I just wondered why there werde no updates by the dealer. Maybe they wanted to keep it a few days to brighten their office, who could blame them? [;)]

And I'm also very curious about that special black on the Voodoo. I'm sure it will be something extraterrestrial. Like pouring reflective metal flakes into a black hole, then squeeze it dry and paint the guitar with the result. That would mean you can carry around your own private little quantum singularity on stage and bend time and space to enjoy every little note you play and literally pull the audience in. A new meaning of "I'm drawn to that guitar". Talking gravitational pull. [:P]

Greetings...

Yes, Paul!

This made me to remind of the Vigier Excalibur necks, they only do have a tall section carbon beam, epoxy glued to the maple where the truss rod / skunk stripe combo do usually go.
Simply no need for any adjustments, as those very stiff necks will likely stay in the original shape, even regardless of string gauge it seems...

Cheers, JPB

On the road.  Some shots for you:

One shot shows the fabulous blackburst and it's voodoo black finish. The other one shows less of the burst. More solid you could say.
Sent from my iPhone so pardon the brevity.

I'll just say one thing for now:  the satiny finish on the neck us UNREAL!

I had a friend play it and he laughed out loud for minutes in disbelief!

More shots when I can.

Black Liquid Space Metal!

A guitar cast from a molten asteroid and the first practical use of dark matter on earth. Really every bit of the black hole color I've been fantasizing about as it seems to pull in every hue and shade of light around it.

That leaves only one thing left to do:

"Please, sir, I want some more." [:P]

Very, very nice.  I gotta say that if the headstock is a single color (rather than the two tone), it looks much better.  The lower arc on the headstock compliments the new upper horn shape.  They should do it with all of them.  Guitars with a natural finish should have a natural finish headstock.  Very nice, the S3 Voodoo should be a production model.

Pat,

Congrats on your new custom DF!!  I really like the color too.. When you get a chance to spend some time with it, let us know how it sounds..  Sonically between the two you have all your bases covered..

Great ebony and ivory shot!
I normally don't like black guitars but this one looks really nice!
Like the 3 single coils. I think it will beat a good strat(?).

Hi Guys.
Thanks for the good thoughts which were well received here!
All right.  I'm still out but I did get the "black beast" out – as it was dubbed by one of the attendees – and used it on a gig.  It sounds AMAZING!
It's what a strat has always wanted to be and was denied by the established order!  Light (even lighter than my white DF), vibrant, and the Kinman pickups in it are ridiculously spanky.  All the chime and quack you can dream of, cuts through a mix like nothing. At first play, it made my white DF sound dull.  But then they are different beast and when it came time to do a fat humbucker-style solo, the white one was what it took.
So, the two guitars complement each other perfectly and give me pretty much anything I could have ever wanted.
I will install a mid boost in the Black Beast at some point in time, but I want to find one that can be 100% defeatable.
I will post clips as soon as I'm back and ready to record something.

If some of you are fence-sitters on the custom thing, jump in while you can.   I know it's been touch and go and even last year, getting one made was iffy.    I'm not a rich man by any means, but there's nothing like holding in your hands the complete product of your passion and workmanship of master builders at Parker.

Terry, thanks again.  She's a beauty!

You should tour the country just to rent that thing out by the hour to Parkaholics.

Love it. [8D]
