Parker pb41 neck splitting
« on: July 06, 2011, 11:13:15 PM »
Can someone give me some insight as to how the pb41 neck joint is attached. Im going to go out on a limb and say the "deep pocket" method is more involved than just where the neck heel separates.

is it like a tongue joint fitted into into a hollow cavity like this  (-=) or is it really as shallow as it appears?

some might not know what im talking about but i hope there is someone that has some technical experience with the actual engineering of this.

i really want to get this repaired because it has a very unique tone that i want to be able to preserve but i need to know exactly what im dealing with before i have to consider going that route.

thanks

I'm not sure if it's done the same way as a Fly, but the Fly neck joint looks like this:

That's how they achieve a heel joint that looks like this:

If you're having problems with the neck seperating at the body, that's probably a much much more complicated thing to fix than a Les Paul type of neck joint would be. If it's anything like the Fly neck joint, it would be hard to fix because of the finger joint arrangement.
