I'd try asking the graph tech guys about the hexpander question.  From what I understand they're pretty good about questions.

Hi.
I want to first thank you for your detailed instructions for using the standard Parker piezo to ghost hexpander. It was pretty easy to follow. I was able to send my 6 piezo strings to a powered breakout box, then to a computer to do my audio to midi conversion. Clunky but cheap.
The one thing I didn't fully understand from your tutorial is where do I get the hex pickup sound from inside the guitar? You said "GREEN WIRE (connect this to the stereo output jack (this is the smallest prong which is common to the
mags etc..)" Where is that exactly, and should I use the ground that all the other wires are on?
At the moment I am using  a 1/4 jack wired out of the guitar and then I go back into pin M on the hexpander. If I do this will I need to always unplug it / install a switch to stop the battery from draining?
I haven't had the courage to drill a hole in my guitar to install the 13pin connector internally but would like to avoid the 1/4 jack on the outside as well.
Here are a few links from my computer DIY synth thanks to your help.
