Here are some shots of Swallow with a bass with the horn on it. And then I posted the shots of Al's bass here afterwards for reference.

Hard to tell for sure but there appears to be quite a bit of differences between the those two. Well given that they were both built by the same guy around the same time there are I think noticeable differences. It would be really interesting to see all the guitars and basses in chronological order to see if there was a evolution to the shape that eventually became the Fly.

I can't make out any pickups on Swallows bass. Is it purely piezo?

I think I'd change my name [xx(]

Here's are a few more shots where you can see more detail of the lower bout of Steve Swallow's bass. What is interesting is to consider how that knee rest was an add-on horn at one time, before Ken integrated it smoothly into the entire bottom of the guitar. He continued that aspect into the Tasmanian guitar even when he opened the sides... very cool to see the progression...

To my knowledge there is only one bass after Swallow's.  during my tenure at Parker there was no finish on Steve's bass or a little oil rubbed in at the very most.  He would not send it back for paint.  Perhaps he did later during Mick's time at parker.  The other bass was made very early on, I painted it white (House of Color paint).  I assume that either ken or larry has it.  The production bass was quite a bit different.  I dod go back to boston for a couple of months and help do tooling for the production bass.  I never got one!  Still looking!!

Marvin, Mick is also looking for an older 5string. I was trying to buy his Nylon so he had cash for a 5 string but he was looking to trade.

Yep, that's the bass.  I've got lots of old brochures, pics, etc. but no scanner and I'm on dial-up.  Alex, want me to send you some "stuff" on loan?

I am selling one of my Parker 5's (natural, mint condition), as I might try and buy a new Parker acoustic fretless bass.  Contact me at jay@jayterrien.com before I put it on Ebay.
