Casual is cool.

But did she turn her guitar volume down after her intro at the 8 second mark ?

Barely can hear her guitar play after that. Can't hear anything on those fancy flicks up the neck ?

Bill, that's a common Texas style. Thumb pick and up picking with the index finger, sometimes with a finger pick, sometimes without. Freddie King and Clarence Gatemouth Brown both do it.

Another gem from the same show.
The!!!!Beat was a soul-oriented TV show filmed in Nashville and Dallas circa 1966, somewhat syndicated.
The 28 or so half or full hour(?) shows are available on DVD. One can check out the artists/titles on Amazon.
I think Wikipedia has a page on Hoss Allen--interesting character.
