Pickup swap in a fly mojo singlecut
« on: April 17, 2012, 09:19:59 AM »
Does anyone have any experience swapping the pickups in a Singlecut? From the outside it looks like the Singlecut has a more conventional pickup setup with the ring and the single screw mount on each end, compared to my mahogany mojo which has the more specialized setup.

I am thinking of swapping a pair of Benedetto B6 pickups that I have had for several years into my 2007 Singlecut. Does any one know if it will be a normal straightforward swap? Thanks.

It's a strait forward swap. I've done it a dozen times. The neck route is not as deep, so if you have a tall pickup that could be an issue. I've not run into that though as I have stuck with mainly Seymour Duncan replacements.

Thanks. I found the Singlecut manual online but its description of the pickup mounting is vague and not quite accurate. I'll check the height of the B6s vs the SDs beforehand.

Also the pickup bezel (ring) on the bridge pickup is missing one of the black corner mounting screws for the bezel. Is this an easily findable screw ? It's been missing since I got the two parkers a couple of months ago.

I think you can use a standard Gibson mounting screw.

Is this what you wanted? The Parkers or did you want a humbucker close up or something? Sorry not sure what you meant.

No that's great. I was curious as to what your Mojo's looked like! Very cool.
