There was a confederate flag in the background - typical French bikers' decor. A couple of people on FB took exception to it, so I figured I'd better clean up just in case.  :)

wuz the foto taken in the states?  I know biker bars.  have mentioned before here about playing in sleazy* bars in the "black mountain hills of Dakota" where the crowd drowned the band out completely.  we play loud too, but not metal loud, more like Tulsa loud. about this flag issue I think Virginia is currently up in arms.  not sure if this country is ever gonna be one big happy family.  but music can sure help:)

*(digression)sleazy biker bar-old rusty bikes from fla, ga. ect, riders who have seen some considerable years, miles, drug thin, toothless and drunk.  I learned more about sex just standing on the bandstand, watching them on the dance floor, both vertical and horizontal, than my parents ever told me!! Tommy Bolin's vocalist, Candi Givens once encouraged them to take their clothes off.  wow.

why does them being offended stop me from seeing the pics?  do I not get to choose if I want to be offended?

I saw the pic. I wasn't offended. I'm struggling to see how anybody could be offended.

Sometimes people can be a little touchy.  But in some cases I can also understand why.

I can also understand how some from overseas may not understand the history and associations of the confederate flag.

Probably a cool gig though!

as long as captain rusty wasn't specifically endorsing the flag or making a point of displaying it, then the photo is simply reporting the scene at his gig.
If someone expects him to see the flag and say, "right that's it folks, gig is off I'm going home" then they are somewhat mistaken and projecting their own offence on to others.  Be offended at the bikers who put it up, but not Captain Rusty or his photo.

What next?  am I banned from watching Dukes of Hazzard re-runs on tv?????
