I'm afraid you're wrong about that.  It's a pre-refined Blowfly, so it has the old "Permastring" technology.  Look at the first pic.  Obviously Permastring.  With VAPAR, you can't even see the strings.

No, i'm pretty sure it's one of the newer models, perhaps a hybrid one off? Only one way to be sure though... need a pic of the serial number....

Oh, post the serial number and somebody lurking turns the guitar in as stolen. I've heard about that scam ;)

I do know that if you play at pool parties, the guitar can be used as a flotation device.

I think I'll leave it to my children in my will, it's a real "Airloom"

I gotta admit to liking that Teufell Niwa, it is a sweet looking rig....not a blowfly...nor is it Fly weight, but nicely executed.

.....See, the problem with those early "Permastring" models was that once the stings did wear out, it was a real bugger to sketch them back in again, especially as the original perma-marker pens aren't available anymore and the new ones are all different thicknesses, never can quite get the same gauge strings on there...

I have an early model that I believe is a Gibson prototype from the late 80's:

No serial number.  "1989, Rhode Island Novelty Company" is the only inscription of any kind.  I think that's the name of Gibson's secret skunkworks, but I'm not sure.  Because it's secret.

I've used it for years to experiment with tone gases.  Methane is the ultimate tone gas, in my experience.  Methane has produced more tone than any other gas, that's for sure.  I know, the hydrogen loyalists will get all fired up over that one.  They might even explode.

Here in Colorado, we've been experimenting with using marijuana smoke as a tone gas of sorts.  It gives you a tonal range that's perfect for playing reggae.

That must be the one he set on fire.  I told him not to use hydrogen!

You shouldn't be talking about sax around here.  Lots of children read this forum.
