Wow, the price on these just keeps skyrocketing!

Lovely guitar, but I think it's priced just a bit high:

Yea, I bought it.  I thought the price was high as well.  We negotiated a reasonable price which is hundreds of dollars less.

I've observed the same thing.  These do keep going up in price.

Anxiously waiting for its arrival.

Congratulations !  I've seen maybe 10 of these up for sale over the last few years, but most of them were pretty beat up.  Yours looks like a really clean one.

I bought mine from Ebay from a Pawn shop known as Hardcore Pawn in Detroit. I paid 3050 for my Spanish Fly. Near mint condition and I lucked out. It is one of the most fantastic guitars that I own. Nothing feels or plays anything like it. If you can find one and have the extra funds I would highly recommend it!

I tied some ball ends to some classical strings after I changed them and put them on a deluxe as an expiriment and while I wouldn’t play out with it, it was a lot of fun. No piezo, but the mags worked.

Try it out!

Don't you mean NO MAGS but the Piezo worked?

That’s what I thought would happen but it was the other way around.

That sounds like alot of fun! Since our frets are glued on I wonder how it would play without them. They are easy enough to take off. I'm going to get a beater fly to try it

Well that makes little sense to me.  A mag pickup reacts to string vibration.  I don't think a Nylon string would do much disrupting of the magnetic field!  But the piezo responds to pressure, which the nylon string provides plenty of.  So. .. this is a bit of a mystery.
