Indeed quite funny.

Maybe a Gibby or even a Tele from a pawn shop if your lucky.

The one from Colorado Springs is a better deal as strictly a working "try a very light guitar".
But then with shipping, that most certainly would blow his budget.

Nice "holier than thou" undertone/jab of how "some players regard them as high value some do not used" too.

He's looking for a PDF series but doesn't know it.

Except that he claims all he cares about is weight: 'I see them as a very good utility instrument that is simply VERY LIGHTWEIGHT and nothing more ... I don't care to spend a lot for one as I simply want to try a very light guitar.' He should leave Flys to players who have a clue.

He can always pick up a cheap Strat copy and do something like this to it:

Just cracks me up because this is another ad that can only assume is same person based on tone/timing/ups:
http://myrtlebeach.craigslist.org/msg/5538474501.html

But then again CL here is special... One would think we have the market cornered on Fast Fret, this has been up for years http://myrtlebeach.craigslist.org/msg/5504253836.html

And if you are in the market for an EVH, look no further.  To bad not light weight enough to be a utility guitar?

I guess the poster is lurking our forum today - the ad is gone.

At least he knows how silly his $400 expectation was.

Still has to be sanded and painted. Waste of money, even on a cheap body.

If you're talking about my suggestion for the craigslist poster, I was essentially joking. But drilling, sanding, and painting constitute some folks' idea of a good time.

If you're talking about the white Strat, you're looking at the finished product. Go here and scroll down:

Opinion noted. I personally like the concept a lot and have seen other similar ones that I also liked. I might do one myself someday.

Hey to clarify,
I'm not saying that guitar isn't nice, it's just not my cup of tea.
Tele's and Strats just don't work for me.

It's well done with nice hardware and good finish.
The symmetry of the pattern is well executed and the colors work.

Its not bad. But seems like by the time you spend drilling,  sanding and painting would be anti cost effective.  Especially if you are having a luthier finish it or even a pro paint job. Home diy,  sure,  cheap fun,  but it probably won't ever look professional.  And yes,  I think we all know it was a joke.
