Parker Hornet Bass (need help identifying)
« on: May 23, 2015, 02:44:20 PM »
I have a Parker Hornet bass that I don't know much about.  My brother-in-law who is out of the country wanted me to find information about it for him (model number, value, etc...).

I just stumbled across this forum this morning and thought this would be the best place to get info.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  See pics below...

Thanks in advance!

Real nice.  I didn't know that they made some out of spalted maple.

It's a PB51 Hornet bass.

It was made in November 2007.  Active pickups with independent controls.  Very nice, and looks to be in very good shape.

I've seen two of the Hornet PB41 basses (next model down) in Silverburst go for $500-$600.  I've seen a couple listed for over $900, but I haven't seen any evidence that they actually sold for that much.  I would think that a PB51 in spalted maple would command more than that.

Maybe someone else can chime in here.  If it helps, I believe that this was somewhere in the neighborhood of $1200 new.

Wow, thanks for the reply!  There isn't much info about Parker gear but this helps a lot.

Thanks for that EBay info.  Your post made me look at already sold PB51s on EBay.  I didn't realize it was possible to search  sopd auctions until now.  Learn something new everyday.  Thanks again.  My brother in law will likely sell his bass so this was very helpful.
