2003 HSH Fly Artist Classic?

https://reverb.com/item/450331-2003-parker-fly-classic-trans-burgundy

Hello gentlemen,

I am kinda lost about this one (link above).

I cannot find info on that specific model from the 2003 Parker catalog. I guess it was a transition model to the all-refined models. This one still has the balance wheel, oddly enough, but most other refined appointment are there.

Can anyone give me some info on it (such as body and neck wood?) Anyone here ever had one?

Cheers!

Funny. I'm in touch with the seller to get some more info.  I'll post as soon as I get an answer.
Looks like exactly what you said.  Transitions period. Only "refinement" I can see is the crappy plastic trem insert and the battery cavity.
It's a Basswood neck and Mahogany body according to the SN.
Let's see what comes back from the seller.

Thanks, Patzag!

Seems it is a one-off as I've never heard of others HSH flys (or is it - ies?) from that time period or before.

I love that pickup combo. It's pretty much the most versatile. I wonder if the same issues to upgrade pickups (with non-refined flys) are present - both humbucker and the single coil.

Only "refinement" I can see is the crappy plastic trem insert and the battery cavity.

It's got the 'refined' electronics as well. No stereo on/off button, no master volume, no piezo tone control.

This one's been for sale on and off for quite some time, and I posted a similar thread to this one maybe about 6 months ago. I was quite interested, but the new electronics and the "refined" (asinine in my opinion) battery compartment are total deal breakers for me.

Edit: found my post on this one from a while ago:

I got more data on this one and actually made a deal with the seller.  It's enroute to me.
It's a classic of sorts.  Refined electronics (Fishman Powerchip with auto-stereo switch), Coil tap, HSH configuration.
It's unique.  I've never seen an HSH Classic.  I suppose it was a custom one-off.
I'll report back on that one when I get it.  I'll decide then if it's a keeper or not.
Cheers!

Enjoy! It sure seems like a really versatile axe.

I was liking the PTP wiring and HSH but usually I don't care for most "refined" features.

I've received an offer to sell my 98 fly classic and considering it. I love it though. The main issue is that I'm  afraid the ribbon will crap out again and no one will know how to fix it or convert point-to-point wiring (not into doing it myself). Few Parker dealers here are knowledgeable...especially with the pre-refined models.

Look what I found...website says it is a Deluxe. No year given. However, since the adjustment wheel is gone, it could have been manufactured at a later date.

I wonder what that extra switch is for...splitting the coils?

Same red headstock... This seems like these may have been part of an experimental batch they tried at the time. I wonder how many more there are.

That's a pre-refined hardtail classic. No idea what the extra switch is for-doesn't look factory.

Thanks. Any idea how common they where (in HSH)? I can't find any info in any of the catalogs.

Let me know how it is! I was so close to buying this one, but found a more conventional fly in a colorway I liked.

Looks like an additional coil tap switch.  It's probably older than the one I'm getting.
In fact I would've preferred a hard tail HSH.
I say it's probably older because of the knobs.
Where's the listing?

Dioxic - I'll post a review after I get it.

Sorry for the confusion. I misused that word. It's not for sale.

Hi Guys.
I got the guitar.  She's a beauty is excellent (not perfect) condition.
The refined aspect is very well done but still keeping to the tradition.
The coil tap is cool and allows for some unusual sounds from a Parker.
Great player.
Only one gripe: I don't like the Gen 2 pickups.  That's all.
Actually one more.  The color is not my thing.
So all in all, because I already have a '98 Parker. I'm going to relist it for sale.  Anyone interested not should let me know.  I paid $1500 for it and will let it go for the same price.  But I do intend to put it on Reverb or Ebay and move it fast.  Something else is waiting.
