Who bought the butternut limited edition on eBay?
« on: February 03, 2016, 09:59:45 AM »
Just wondering if one of our forum members picked this one up off of eBay a few days ago. I out a decent bid in but it went for over $2k. Surprised it went that high. Even these limited edition don't usually go for that much. Is it because the USA division is closed down for good and people are buying up anything they can get their hands on?

I threw in a couple early bids just for the hell of it, but didn't win(knew I wouldn't).

Where have you seen a butternut sell under 2K? I've only seen a handful and 2K is right about where the sell, if not a little higher. I'd be very interested in one below than price point. Regardless, they're all gorgeous slabs of wood.

I did a quick search before I bid. Saw a few older ads that were priced less. This one did look pretty complete. I've got about 7 Flys now so I probably didn't really need this one. Plus,  I'd rather get a refined anyway.  My first ever was the pre-refined and it was still a great ax.

Don't hate me because I'm beautiful.
Heh.
Just joking. I'm not that beautiful.
And I'm not rich and have no jobs line up for this year, but I started early communication with the seller who was afraid to test the truss rod. Given that it was 1998, I'm going to hope for the best.

I put in a bid for 2600 with 12 seconds to go and was amazed I didn't have to pay that much.
Last one of these I saw anywhere was extremely used and I was actually at a gig when the auction ended at 2400.

It's especially odd for me to buy this because I play mostly through a vg99 or gr55 now and this is probably not a guitar I would mod. (But you never know)

Now I have to figure out how to actually pay for it. Probably by selling something else I won't replace.

But this, tulipwood, and those maple supremes are the only Parker woods that I have not played.

But I'll keep you guys posted about it once I get it.

With all the time I have, I will try. I don't get out much but you know I want to play this out in the world.
I still have to finish setting the intonation. Man, that takes forever!

Too many to play them all.
It's funny. 2 years ago I could play for several hours a day, go to rehearsals and compose stuff.
Now I just barely make it through each day with 46 minutes to spare.
Babies! They get in the way of everything!
