Schaller Locking Tuners
« on: January 27, 2006, 03:27:57 PM »
One of the kids down the street also has a PM-20, and he is interested in having me install Schaller locking tuners in his PM-20.

Does anyone know what the diameter of the peghole for each tuner is? I assume it is 10mm (13/32)?

I agree with him, but did not encourage him to go with the Schaller locking tuners. I believe that the Schallers put all the others to shame . . . of course, this only my 2(ents worth!!!

Yea they are 10mm too. I have used them in the past I don't see any advantage over Sperzel tuners. But I don't know what the P guitars come with.

Lots of info and dimensions on the Stewart-MacDonald web site.[^]

I have used Schaller tuners on a EBMM guitar I had for about a week and I still prefer the Sperzels that came with my Carvin and of course my Classic.

What about the Grover self-locking mini-Rotomatics??? Grover 18-1 are stock on the PM-20. Those are OK with me . . . I'm just a stickler for being and staying in tune. Do lots of bending and lots of tuning between songs, which is really no problem, but . . . if I could eliminate that last part . . . I would have more time to devote to looking at the women!

Obviously, I'm comparing, and really appreciate all the input from the more experienced!!!
