I assume your bridge has a hex shaped hole? If it is round you have the wrong bar? If it is the right bar it is possible that either the end of the bar is deformed or too large or that the hole in the bridge is deformed. Normally the bar slides easily in about 3/4 of the way then gets snug for the last 1/4. [^]

I definitely have a round bar on my midifly, unlike the hex on my deluxe (not a spell, just the shape of the metal).

Are the leaf springs (for 009 and 010 strings) interchangeable from guitar to guitar, as in Deluxe to Midifly?

I haven't even had a chance to open up the back of the Midifly yet, but it is missing a few parts, including an extra spring, and not the least being the software (see yesterday's post in the FLY GUITARS forum, which I should have put in tech talk- a newbie messes up!).

On bars- my Fly Deluxe never really locked down all that securely, and I was afraid to strip it, but the midifly is like a rock.  This is a revelation.  I conclude my Deluxe is messed up.  Thoughts?  Thanks.

EDIT!! Ignore the above about the Deluxe trem- I'm just old and my memory fails me.  It is balancing the trem in the floating mode that seems like, well, a balancing act.
