NGD - Parker Fly Artist
« on: April 21, 2017, 07:58:41 AM »
I still can't get into my old account, but I wanted to post pictures of this gorgeous spruce Artist.

I'm going to admit that I am a huge Parker fan. I've bought and sold a few of them over the years, and now realize that for a solid body guitar, the Fly is perfect for me. This one came up for a sale at a price that was right. I've never had an Artist model before, but I think tonewise, it is really perfect.

My Line 6 Helix LT came in today as well (I've had the guitar for about a month) and I've been having a lot of fun! It's really a very special guitar. It was built in 1997 and I am the second (and last) owner

I only wish I'd tried an artist earlier, love the sound of them.

Congratulations on your beautiful Artist !  Thanks for posting pics.  Red is a rather uncommon color for that model.  I think that's the one I saw on Reverb.com and eBay a month or two ago?
I totally would have bought it IF I hadn't just bought an Artist a month earlier, which I totally love.  I think we have the best guitars :)

According to Ken, he couldn't recall another Artist that he made in red, so this may very well be the only one :)

Interesting...I did notice Danjazzny's signature said this:  '97 Custom Red Artist.   Wonder if this is the same guitar?

I bought it from a guy in Wisconsin, so I don't think they are the same.  I should reach out to Danjazzny and see what his looks like!

I unfortunately have had about an hour to play with it (full time work/post-grad student), but from all of the videos I watched before hand to get ready, it really is a great device.  The tones are all right there and it is super simple to use.  The effects are genuine sounding, and the amp models respond very closely to a their tube amp cousins.  The computer interface and patch downloads make it really easy to start somewhere and model tones with the click of a mouse.  I had been chasing a good Mark IV tone from Line 6 for a long time, and I downloaded one Petrucci patch, and it sounded like early 2000s Scenes from a Memory.

It's a great pedal!

That's a great looking Artist you don't see to many in Red
and what gauge strings do you have on the guitar? I
thought most were Butterscotch hope you have a great
time playing the guitar.
