P44V Vs Nitefly SA??
« on: April 02, 2018, 02:16:51 PM »
Hello everybody,

i’m new on parker guitars, even if I know it since the start.
I’ve seen two parker’s around at a good price, and I don’t know which’s the best one,
the Nitefly SA or the P44V.
What do you think? anyone could tell me the bigger differences between both?

thank you!!

Alvaro

I finally had a chance to play a P44 about Christmas time. I liked it enough, and it had the piezo and a decent neck, but it really wasn't any lighter than a Nitefly. The benefit of the notedly is the carbon-wrapped neck and the jumbo frets. If that is what you like. The necks on those are just great and you can customize the Nitefly to all hell. Also, they seem to be cheap right now, especially "weathered" ones. Get one where the neck is clean with no chips and a working truss rod and you will have a very nice start.

P44v has a common wilkinson vibrato, so very easy for parts. I think I saw once on eBay a P44 with an actual Parker vibrato, and that might be something to investigate. The neck will be the main difference then, and I'd have to say that the PDF series with their maple necks and ebony fretboard really were better than the P44 I played.

As with all guitars, YMMV.

But my vote goes out for a 1990s Nitefly.
