I have two DF guitars

The mag/piezo switch on the custom one (the DF522NN on the right) broke. So I'm gigging with the 524. I miss the P90 sounds of the 522 but I mist admit the humbucker tone on the 524 is better.

So I saved an old post on how to rewire the DF so that in the mag only switch, it bypasses the preamp, is not dependent on the battery, and supposedly produces a slightly cleaner sound.

The DiMarzio toggle switch came in (4 pole double throw) and I've saved the schematic. It's been years and years since I've done any soldering other than phone plugs, so in a week or two when the end of season gigs cool down, I'll give it a go.

I'm inclined to believe the case that came with the guitar is not good enough protection for that switch, so I'll engineer some kind of 'donut' to protect the new one.
