You will be much better off installing point to point electronics and the GraphTech preamp.
Unless the original poster doesn't want the GraphTech preamp.

Why would they not want it?  It sounds better.

As a few others already hypothesized, they prefer the sound and control of the original electronics, so that is what we are doing with that particular Fly.

I think all of the systems sound good, though different. Whenever I am modding or fixing a Fly for a forum member, friend, or someone else, we always discuss replacement systems for both sound (tone and timbre of both humbuckers and piezos) and controls (especially in relation to tone control of the piezo), as well as other needs like 13-pin, Sustainiac, etc.

If anyone sees a set of electronics for sale, or a Fly that has them for a decent price, I'd love a heads up, thanks!

I like the Gen 1 pickups better, but that's a matter of personal preference.

The Graphtech system sounds objectively more like an acoustic guitar.

It ended up selling for $1100.  That's insane.  I hope the OP got it.

I agree, that's a smokin' deal for such a clean Deluxe.  If the OP did not get it, he's kicking himself I bet.

That one did go for a pretty good deal. I’m still looking for one.

Do you all think Parkers will someday be ungodly expensive like the original Steinberger guitars with Trans-Trems? The Flys don't seem to have the same appeal to guitarists, but once something is "vintage" and unavailable, people seem to lose their minds lol

That eBay Fly has the entire guitar painted with nail polish, that would be a challenge to remove but might be doable. Probably will need a refin though, which is expensive. And it also has cracks at the neck joint.

Not one for me personally, but it already has a bid at $799 so someone will get it.

The seller says:

“I used purple sparkle nail polish to repair it. I talked to a technician at Parker guitars about this and that’s exactly what he said to do.“

Maybe the Parker technician thought the owner was describing a much smaller area to cover? I would think that covering large areas of the guitar with nail polish might be problematic in terms of chemicals in it damaging the finish (or worse: the carbon fiber); I’ve never used nail polish to touch-up a guitar, so I’m not familiar with that. I have read a few sad stories of people using normal paint strippers/thinners to change the paint on their Fly only to have the carbon fiber on the back “melt”!  :-[

Agreed though: unless the price stays at what it is, once you factor in the cost of a refinish by someone who is knowledge about Flys, you’re probably in the total price ballpark of other used Deluxe Flys on Reverb and eBay.

Unless, of course, you like the new finish the seller did, in which case: another steal if it sells for $799!

I've used nail polish to touch up guitars, but nothing larger than a thumb nail.

That looks like a hella bad paint job.
Methinks the cat could have done it better.
Really? Looks like the guy used the little nail brush over the entire front?
And how did he get body damage severe enough to need a pint of nail polish from a strap coming off?
It’s pricey for what it is...but Parker’s are holding their value!
I hope it doesn’t skyrocket as the auction ends.
Cheers!
