Nitefly Action
« on: March 21, 2019, 01:48:11 PM »
Hello all, recently joined the forum.
I used to have a 2000 Parker Fly Classic (I gave it to the ex a long time ago - don't ask).
I loved the playability/neck, but wasn't crazy about the thin tone.

I recently scored a Nitefly M, the neck isn't quite as nice, but still fast and I'm enjoying the tone more than the Classic.
I have some experience setting up trems (Gotoh 510 and Ibanez Edge), however I've run into an issue with the Fly bridge.
I've searched the internet, checked this forum, checked the manual but I'm unable to get past this issue.

I can't give a measurement, but I'm sure I can go lower, however I am unable to turn the screw to adjust the action on the bass side of the trem clockwise.
I can raise it, but cannot lower it.
I was able to lower it until the point it is stuck at now.

Should I adjust the springs in the cavity?

What am I missing?

I appreciate any and all advise.

welcome-  it might be that the post is "binding". This can happen if you tighten one a lot more than the other side all at once.  Ideally you want to do 1-2 turns and alternate between sides until it gets to the height you want.

I'd raise it all the way out again, and start over using the alternating method.

good luck!
