So, I finally took the plunge and she's on her way!
« on: April 22, 2019, 07:28:39 AM »
Hello everyone,

As a longtime Parker player (94' Galaxy Grey HT) and an even longer time bassist, I'm very excited to finally get the opportunity to check out Ken's low end masterpiece.  It's en route and should be at my doorstep before the end of this week.  If it is even half as good as the guitar variant, I'll be extremely pleased.  I currently play a Ritter Roya and a Warwick Dolphin, which are both pretty big shoes to fill.  That being said, I'm happy to have had the opportunity to acquire a March 2003 FB4 example!  I'll have pics and a comprehensive review done as soon as she gets here.

Cheers!

Thanks!  I know we chatted a while ago about them, but it really has taken me just a bit to locate the right one.  I'm very excited!

Thank you!  Yep, pics and review will not be a problem.  As biased as I am toward Parker, I will be as objective as I can be with the FB4.  My expectations are fairly high, given it's from the Ken Parker-era, but I've never even seen one in real life, much less held or played one, so I am a definite neophyte!  :D

When I took a tour of the factory a few years ago, Terry had me play a Washburn bass that had been built using all the Parker techniques available. Carbon fiber, SS frets, and a few other things.  That instrument sung!  Great twang and bottom end. I'm not a bass player by trade but I was really impressed.  I'd have bought one if I played!
Never played the FB4.
