Lots of good names listed here, but auspiciously absent (given all the buzz lately on his signiture Parker) is Adrian Belew!

I've been a HUGE Belew fan since his first solo album.  He's such a unique talent.  In addition to all the wild sounds, he can write and sing such great pop material as well.

When I first heard he switched to Parker, I was curious how it would work out, as his playing and tricks were so Strat-o-centrinc.  But it appears to work out well.

BTW, I saw the new Parker ad in this months GP with Adrian.[8D]

Yeah, I've heard he's about as normal as they come! ;)

Side One didn't slay me, but I really liked Side Two.  Still need to get Side Three.

All the talk about Adrain Belew has put me in the mood for KC's "Disipline". Even with a thousand cd's or so, "Disipline" is in my top five.

Cool. It occurs to me that I never got the Discipline CD. Just the vinyl when it came out. I've got some shopping to do.

I got my first Adrian Belew album when I was in high school. It changed the way I look at guitar. I was a huge fan immediatly. Still am, and just saw him play at Cat's Cradle in Chapel Hill a few months ago, sporting his Fly. Incredibe, to say the least. I'd been eyeing Fly's on Ebay for a while before that show, and about two weeks after that, I bought my beloved Classic. If Adrian can't knock it out of tune, well... who could? His agressive trem work has always inspired me, and he used to change guitars during a set. He never put down that Fly and only tweeked the tuning once, during the bass solo.
His playing baffles me, inspires me... and he's such a great guy. Sticking around for hours to sign autographs. We had a great conversation twice, because I showed up with guitars for him to sign. (Just for me, never for ebay). 1) '65 Fender MusicMaster II (my first guitar), and 2) Fender Strat, mex. that we discussed a pick-up mod on, leading to a discussion about how he knew Seymore Duncan back before anyone had heard of either of them. We had a great conversation and I thank him for that [8D]

Greetings Parker clubbies and fellow Belew fans!

Go to  www.adrianbelew.net , click on his Elephant Blog,  "The Odyssey, Pts. 1&2" tell of the making of the Adrian Belew Signature Parker Fly.  I didn't find this doing a quick search and thought you might be interested.

I love his work with Zappa, playing and singing. To his great credit he's still trailblazing now.
The only thing that exists is this moment now.
