tuning system in Parker guitars??
« on: April 25, 2005, 02:18:24 PM »
Recently a guitar tech told me that the "Buzz Feiten Tuning System is automatically being incorporated into many of the newer guitars being made.
Does anyone know if this sytem is incorporated in the Parkers PM guitars???

(This system simply shifts the placement of the nut slots for each string to give more precise tuning. and many people with older guitarists are paying a small fortune to change the nut for this new system)

YOu might be interested in the Earvana compensated nut, however, which does accomplish a lot of what the Buzz Feiten compensation does... I installed one on my P-38 with good results, as well as on another guitar I had.  I find it "sweetens" some of the notes that are just a little off on some guitars (each has it's peculiarities in fret positioning-- any arrangement is a compromise, and with a straight nut you are limited in what you can accomplish with the intonation from the bridge.  A compensated nut allows more notes to be "on" or close to it than a regular compensation.

Hope web site is still there.... found people there very good to deal with.
