I dont agree w/you on this John.  There seems to be WAY more issues with manufacturing issues and problems on Fly's than Ps.  They run the gauntlet from paint cracking to electronics failure.  Way more than N/F's and Ps. Maybe its the nature of the beast or not so great QC right here in the USA!!

Have you seen anything -recently- ??  This forum would be where you would hear of issues.  Yes, there were a number of issues during the transition, but I've not heard anything recently, and there are guys here buying brand new USM built Fly's.  I'll agree on mid 2005 through mid 2006 guitars, but I think that is past.  You would go through the same thing all over again moving production overseas and maybe never find a fix for it.  If US production has it together now and is producing guitars worthy of the Parker name, let's  be happy with that.

Have you ever hung out at the PRS board or TGP? What you're describing sounds like they are shooting for that market. Too bad as the Fly will never sell to that kind of buyer. Would be a lucrative group to sell to but ain't going to happen with the Fly.

I dunno... PRS and Gibson are way overpriced IMO, and they'll never ever play as effortlessly as a Fly. They might be playing the same retail price game as the rest of them - SRP $5000, actual price $3500 or whatever.

EDIT: BTW, that koa Fly is AWESOME!! [:p][:0][^]

John Page introduced me to Gil Vasquez last night. Spoke only briefly on our way in to see the Robert Randolph show at the Sennheiser party. This was the hot ticket last night. OK GO opened, and I simply couldn't believe how good they are. And then Robert Randolph and the family band came out and CRUSHED!

Great show.

I think OK GO are great (and not just the YouTube videos - although the treadmill one is about the best music video I've ever seen[8D]).  On New Years Eve they were on TV, and I was also surprised at how good they were live, and what CHEAP guitars they were using[:D]. Did they upgrade for NAMM, or was it still all Epi?

Thanks Bob, I knew 11k for a production bass was way out there.  It was just the way it looked.

One more thing. All the new Parkers at the show have the PXXXXXX serial numbers. Not sure what they mean or how to read them.
