Got a Broken headstock
« on: January 18, 2007, 09:05:38 PM »
when i recieved my parker in the mail. fedex made a little crack in the headstock, doesnt affect tuning or anything.  even with the tremelo, no matter how much you mess with it.

anyways. so parker told me that they would sell me a new parker neck for 75$.  is that extremely cheap? or is that just how it is since washburn bought the company.

i dont want to buy a crappy neck, even if it is by parker.

is there any way that i can get the carbon fiber neck that they used to make that is a bolt on that will fit the P44?

-Parker P-44.
-Orange 30R.
-Crappy tele.
-kay acouston.
-kona acoustic.

aurian, the bolt on carbon fiber necks are made for the NiteFly guitars and have a curved back side that to my knowledge will not fit a "P" series guitar. $75 really sounds cheap to me. They are probably just trying to help you out! [;)]

Unlike most manufacturer's I've seen Parker and Parker/US Music bend over backwards to help Parker owners regardless! [;)]

I think thats extremely fair of Parker.  $75.00 for a new neck is cheap.  Especially if the new neck has the ebony fingerboard as opposed to the older P44 which had a rosewood fretboard.  Bear in mind, you will need to tranfer the tuners and probably have to make the holes for the neck pocket but thats really easy to do.  Hopefully the frets will be dressed and prepared from the factory.  Most companies wont just sell you a neck without first returning the old one because necks with the company logo are considered proprietary.  They dont want you to repair your old neck and stick it on some crappy cheap knock off body and try to pass the gtr as original on Ebay. US Music is absolutely trying hard to bring their level of customer satisfaction way up. I think they are well on their way.  You might want to take advantage of their offer.  Hairline headstock cracks usually just worsen over time.  Parker may not make you the same offer at a later time.

Is it 100% confirmed that the carbon fibre neck/fretboard will not fit the p44/p42 ?

They do not fit.  The Nitefly has a sculpted, half round neck pocket.

Hi, im new to the forum, i registered because of this thread, i own a parker p38, and would like a replacement neck, is that easy to get a new one, and that cheap?  I would really like a neck with ebony fretboard.

Thanks for you attention.

yea, man.. just call parkers contact number that you can get from parkerguitars.com

call and tell them that you have a p38, and want a replacement neck with an ebony fretboard(the p44 necks have ebony fretboards, so if that will fit, or bolt on correctly, go for it). and make sure that it will fit your guitar. then they will tell you how much, TRY bargaining with them. lol.  and then theyll just order it over the phone
