yeah, I need an artist...
very nice James...[^][^][^]
what is the neck profile like? I've heard the Artist is a little fatter than the typical deluxe or classic...

Mine isn't, as a matter of fact it is the thinnest one I own.

Artists is a really cool guitar for clean or acoustic play. I think they get rather muddy with a lot of distortion. I might try some bronze strings on it just for kicks. [;)]

Alex, have you tried "Pyramid" strings. I learned recently that Ken wanted to use these strings initially but found they were too expensive. They have a bright characteristic. It's a brand I understand all the early 60's groups from Europe used. Mainly because that was all they could buy! Just a thought! [^]

I tried Pyramid. They are nice strings. Still prefer Tomastik-Infeld.

I wonder what the DR Zebra strings would sound like on an Artist? Every other winding is bronze, while the other is nickel. I think I am gonna try some of those. Actually, they'd be great on any Fly with a Piezo, I think...

I guess we're getting off topic a bit.

So, back to that incredably beautiful Artist. Congradulations. You just can't beat that natural finish and yours has particularly nice wood. Enjoy.
