"Paris Luna Got Candy Bars" song. I'm not happy with the distortion, I did not catch it with headphones. I'm at the point if there is any in the red on digital I'm backing off the recording or mixing level. There is a real Paris Luna, heard her at a club, talked a little bit and wanted to write a song.

Nice Parker tone BW.

Digital is unforgiving, RED means OVERLOAD.  You want to give yourself headroom.  If you record CLOSE to peak, tehn you're fine.  And you can always "Normalize" the mix to take your overall levels to peak.

I like the song though, and I LOVE Paris Luna's MySpace site.

Thanks for sharing.

The Parker tone was my new Parker Fly Mojo Single Cutaway, plugged straight into the computer, no effects. An MBox. I hope I find where "Normalize" is located, if it's on ProTools LE I don't see it in the index of this Pro Tools how to book.
Paris Luna's MySpace page is not all loaded up with clutter yet. It's nice to be able to look at a page without taking a lot of time for it to load.
The girl singer on Candyland sounds like she is influenced by Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane, on MySpace larrysmithmusic.

BW - I'm gonna have to try one of the Mojo's sometime, that's sweet!

I've never used the LE version, but Normalize is a command that's even part of Nero!  You may have to "Select All" to get to the command list where Normalize would be.  It's typically found under "Volume" commands.  It might be wherever compression is.  I don't currently have a computer with any version of ProTools, so I can't be of too much help.  I've mixed and mastered a project completely in ProTools before (1998 or 1999), and the full version had the normalize command.  You'd still want to apply any frequncy specific (multi-band) compression (or even overall compression) BEFORE you normalize; it's the last step in processing.

The singer on Candyland is the same one on my Parker sound clip - it's my wife.  The Grace Slick comparisson has been made several times, but it's not at all deliberate.  The funny thing is, she weighs like 105lbs is you soak her down, but she's got this HUGE voice.  She HATES that I've got Candyland on MySpace, and she'd KILL me if she knew I posted 1967 (especially with the hated "jazz flute"!).  Once we get her parts finalized (meaning lyrics she can live with, parts she approves of, and harmonies) I'm gonna post the whole project.  (It was GOING to be 17 songs, but i think it'll end up around 8...)

If you're a MySpace regular, please "friend me".  You've posted enough very cool things to put up a page around.  It does take a bit of time to maintain these things though.

Larry

I don't have a MySpace page. Saw that CompulsorySkin is on the larrysmithmusic page. She is one of my favorite musicians currently. I'll listen to some of her music everytime I come across her.
