Hi Peter I just wrote that and then left for my sisters. So now hours later still stuffed I could check to see if that was any help. Those do look like first class switches. One of the members here sent me a switch he had left over from his aircraft mechanic days left over from some jet fighter. Now that switch is serious over kill. But after dinner and desert I know the meaning of too much of a good thing, well until leftovers tomorrow.

Ahh..Boxing Day's obligatory fry up.. best meal of the year [:p]

That's great news on the switches, I'll order some in the New Year and let everyone know on the out come.

Just a thought, I like the idea of a a stutter switch on the guitar, what would be really nice if someone made a switch that is a 5 way switch, where positions 1 and 5 are a momementary position that you could ground to give the stutter effect.Positions 1 and 5 would be spring loaded so they return to positions 2 and 4 naturally.

They do make a switch close to that. The switch you're buying is a three position switch with detents in all three positions. They make a switch that is temporary or momentary on one side. If you used that and grounded that side it would shut the guitar down entirely. I can't see a good way of using it in place of the standard switch because you really need the normal three positions but if you added a switch you could make the detented side a coil split and the temp side a stutter.[;)]

alex, i was wondering if you knew what switch buckethead uses for the killswitch on his guitar? and how to wire it up?

Im going to rewire my mojo in this fashion, could you help me out and tell me if its even possible. im pretty sure it is, but i trust your knowledge.

1 Volume, 1 Tone, 1 3 way toggle, one pushbutton on/off for coil tap, one buckethead spring loaded button type switch for the stutter effect.

Could you show me which switches id need for the button switches?

id like both switches to look like this aesthetically.  which ones would i need. i need the coil tap switch to stay down when i depress it, but i want the stutter switch to be spring loaded

I did the kill switch see this thread.http://forums.parkerguitars.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4878

The switch you linked to looks great. One problem it is larger than the master volume hole I used so you have to remove bit of wood not everyone is willing to do that[mine was larger too]. For the kill switch you want a "normally open". What you're going to do is ground the output. In this is way the default is on and switch failure results in the guitar working but the kill switch not working rather than the other way around.

For a push button coil tap or split switch you need a detent or push/push switch. I am not sure you're going to find that I looked I couldn't. Plus with a push/push button you can't look at it to see if it is on or off a toggle would be a better or a pull switch on a pot. Were you going to drill new holes? If you use the split switch on your tone control then you only need to add the kill switch, one hole instead of two.

well here was my idea. Im using my fly mojo. so i have my master volume and 3 way in the first two holes where the would normally be.

Then the tone knob is where the Piezo volume used to be (i installed RMC saddles)

The 2 free holes are where the tone knob used to be (the middle pot) which is smaller in diameter, and where the second three way switch used to be.

The kill switch would go where the old 3 way (mag/piezo) switch used to be, and the push push would go where the small tone pot used to be. I would not mind putting a mini toggle on/on switch there, and if that were the case, which switch would i need to use. I currently have a DPDT 3 way on/on/on switch in that position right now and it fits perfectly.

Ive also looked here for switches. http://digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll

Here is the specific i think, http://digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Cat=1114209

I saw this done on a McNaught and i liked it.  Looks sleek.

Ill also be changing the pots on this guitar because i think i fried the tone pot, whenever i plug it in it sounds really dark and bolagnaty.

Any advice, please help me out, and if its more convenient you could give me a ring, 203-231-2963, i also dig ducati motorcycles, my uncle has like 3 of them, pretty bad ass!

You can wire one side of the switch to either input or output pole of the volume control or the input of the tone control. The other side of the switch goes to ground I used the main ground where all the green wires go to. The signal will shut off and there won't be any clicks or noises doing it this way. Plus the signal never travels through any extra switch of connection on its way to your amp.

update:

Wired it all up, looks like a rats nest, but works pretty well so far as i can tell. if i run into any more trouble ill let you know, ill have to take a picture for ya!

I also soldered some little tags on the ends of the pickup wires so i dont have to keep cutting and cutting the wires every time i screw up. Im eventually going to put new leads on my pickups.

The killswitch its pretty fun!
