Personally, I can't stand the band "Orgy". This guy can really play though. He knows his equipment like the back of his hand, and I've seen him adapt his style to anything. He does some really intersting stuff with synth, yet he's played in a hair metal band before [8D]

yeah, amir derakh has a very interesting style.  i never paid much attention to the rest of the band.  even the other guitar player lol.  i just noticed he plays a seven string.  a band with a seven string and a parker really caught me attention, but i never found a song i particularly liked.  i could still listen to them, it's just not like i could listen to them for very long lol.

I can't listen to that band at all. I just think he's an intersting player. I did like his work in the band Rough Cutt. That's when I realized he knew how to play.

funny how a lot of guitar players out there can really play but end up with some less interesting bands.  seems to be getting more common every decade.  i have heard some of tom morello's stuff and thought 'what the heck is this guy doing in a band where he plays stomp boxes more than he plays guitar!?'

don't mean to trash on anyone's favorite bands, but you must admit that a lot of people underplay just to get more attention.  and by underplaying, i don't mean that they play fewer notes, lol.  i think you know what i mean.

Mark Tremonti is another example. I couldn't stand the band Creed. When I heard him play it was a different story. He used to play parker actually before he went to the inferior PRS guitars [^]

i agree. he is good, but it doesnt show alot in orgy.  and mark tremonti is one of my favs, but i cannot stand the rest of creed.  it is strange how some incredible guitarists are in bands that dont show what they can do.  heres a funny one.  johnny 5 from marilyn manson.  would you guess that during off time, he goes to country bars and plays with house bands?  strange, is it not.  and i strongly agree on the tom morelo thing.  great guitarist.  but you rarely get a glimpse of his true skill.

To build on John 5, his solo record is simply incredible.  He is a criminally underated player.

I think Orgy's first record was phenominal. It doesn't have amazing riffs or anything, but it's very unique and catchy.
