Congrats on the new Fly, let's see some pics.  Until these posts, I didn't know that this guitar even existed.

Are the Alumitones really dead silent even if you put them through a high-gain amp? I wonder if they will fit in a Single 2 Fly... also wondering if the humbucker size version of the Alumitones will fit in a Fly. Lace categorize the humbucker size version still as single coil.

It would just be a question of fit for the pickups.  The body wood and color is a definite can do in the Custom shop because that is what I asked for in my Custom Single 2.  I ended up not ordering, but I still hope to someday.

Didn't know about Lace Alumitones.  I've got Gold Lace Sensors in my Strat Plus and absolutely LOVE them.  And yeah, they're dead quite.

So how much different are the Alumitones from the Golds?

I had the Lace Blue, Silver and Red Sensors in my Deluxe Plus Strat. They're not dead quiet. If you feed them through a high gain amp, they're noisy just like any single-coil pickups. I eventually replaced them with DiMarzio's Virtual Vintage pickups.

The Alumitones are very much different...

The Alumitones are by far my favorite single coil I've tried.  I replaced a set of gold sensors with them about 3 months ago.  They are very nice sounding and and extremely crystal clean. IMO they sound far less sterile than the Gold sensors.  and are just as quiet.  They seam to be a touch hotter than the golds but have that nice strat "bang" and "quack".  In high gain situations, they are still fairly quiet (not humbucker quiet), but passable with a gate.  As to whether or not they'd fit a fly?  They seam to be thin enough, but you'd need square routed pickup cavities.  Also, there is no pole pieces, so they'd need a different mounting system.

PS. nice pic Alex, I'm liking the strat knobs. :)  very nice!

If anyone from Parker Guitars is reading this thread...Please consider putting the Single 2 back into production!  This is one very nice guitar with a unique voice.  It's not really Strat..the tone is richer than any Strat I've played.  It has more sustain and ring than a Strat, too.  It's probably not as Strat like as a NiteFly SA, but it has a great sound all it's own.

I know that when I asked for a quote on a Custom shop Single 2, the guys at Parker were eager to build it, so why not just build a bunch of them?

I agree with John. Having played it for only a few minutes, I definitely need one.
