Go with Cecil's recommendation for the Trace Elliot. Yeah, they're a bit spendy if you buy them new. But check eBay and your local pawn shops... I just found a GP12smx combo bass amp at a pawn shop for $250!!! darn right I bought it! Sure, it's old, but it smokes any other bass amp I've played. 580 watts, a single 15" speaker with two ports, 12-band eq... wonderful amp. I also have one of their twin 5 practice amps for acoustic, and it sounds better than most amps three times it's size. Best of luck,

I just recently got a used Crate acoustic CA112D to use with my Parker & Shadow Piezo equipped guitars & I love it. Say what you will about the Crate electric guitar amps, i know they suck!

This 1x12" Crate acoustic sounds great & the DSP is really awesome too. I got mine for $300 in just about perfect condition.

Look it up on the Crate website in the "old" section or whatever they call it. It was thier top of the line amp. It has a single 12" speaker with dual voice coil that takes the 100 watts & a piezo tweeter at 25 watts . This combo gets way better & more realistic bass response than the 2x8 version.

I went back to Phoenix to pick up the last of my things & saw my friends at guitar center & sam ash, & my Sam Ash buddy, after me telling him I was looking for an acoustic amp - something cheap for around $300.00, told me he would sell me the crate for what he paid with employee discount a couple years ago....Long story short, Ive got it now!

It really is an awesome combo. Im not a huge acoustic player, but I figured ive had the Shadow guitars for years & now the Parker, it was time to step up & do the piezos justice.

Hey guys and gals. Anyone play a Genz-Benz Shenandoah? I read a couple reviews and played around with one yesterday. Anyone have any experience with them? I was playing on the 100 and it sounded really nice.

how bout the peavey "ecoustic 112" ? Anyone tried that one?... It has a 12 inch speaker....is there anything better than the crate 125 telluride? the current crate 125 ones only have two 8 inch speakers...not the old single  12 inch mentioned above...if not as good, are they ok? which is better for 200-300 bucks peavey or crate??

Peavey Ecoustic does sound good with a Parker, at least for those of us who like it clean.  My son has the Ecoustic, and I've plugged into it at times.  Good acoustic amp in general. Has a 12" speaker with a tweeter mounted "co-axially" (on top of it).

Just so you guys know, there is a Crate CA-250D on ebay from guitar center of Scottsdale AZ. This is the second time its been on there in the past month or so. This is the mother of all crate acoustic amps...Ever!
If memory serves, its got 4x8" speakers & 4 channels two of them with full eq dedicated to supporting two guitars at the same time. Its pretty huge too.
If anyone is interested..

I just checked again...its there. I found it under "crate acoustic" its got 22 hours left.

I downloaded the manual from the crate site when I was looking for info on my crate 112. This bigger combo is pretty amazing. Not many of them made either. Im not sure, but I think the $499.00 they are looking to get isnt too bad a price. If someone lived locally they could get it much cheaper i think

Thanks for checking and responding. I found it now with your search words. Wierd how picky ebay can be on searches or maybe I just missed it. Anyway, I saw the crate 125 ca amp (telluride in later models) go for as little as 180(beat up) to 250 (used) on ebay with like new at 325 to 375. Have you played on that model? I saw a trace eliot (in much lower watt/probably smaller speakers too) in the same price range as the crate 250...Do you think the 250 is really that much better than the 125? (trying to spend less but know you usually get what ya pay for)...Currently play on a dean 30 amp acoustic practice amp and an old fender 100 keyboard amp...my deluxe sounds kind of twangy in general and although the piezos sound good blended in (strong sound)they are not that acoustic sounding on piezo only mode...Speaking partially metaphorically, Ya think this amp will mellow out my piezo?

Hi Bill that keyboard amp should work fine with for a acoustic guitar. With acoustic amps the more power the better you cant have too much power for clean tones. There are EQ pedals made for acoustic guitars that really help get the sound right. What you need is a good tube amp for your magnetic pickups than you wouldn't worry so much about the acoustic side.
