"Dopey Girl" song, I'll put this up for a little while. The low bass distorts my speakers, other people's speakers may be able to handle it. Or maybe the distortion is something other than the low bass. I may work on the mix at a later time.

I like the fuzz, BrainWorm. Kind of has a Stooges, "Little Doll" feel to it that way. I'm listening on my tiny HK PC computer speakers.

doombilly, I went back and listened to the song again to see if I could like the distortion fuzz. I do have a bass fuzz pedal. I want to work on "Dopey Girl" some more, maybe try the bass fuzz pedal and a compressor. I'll probably redo the whole song.
Iggy Pop is so cool.

It sounds to me like your levels were too high on the way in. Anyway it's not just the bass distorting. You'll have to sort it out, if adjusting the mixing levels doesn't do it out then you'll have to re-record. It'd be worth it though, the song itself sounds really good.
The only thing that exists is this moment now.

Reminds me of my absolutely favorite Tom Waits. [8D]

I like Tom Waits too, but it never crossed my mind that the song sounded like Tom Waits. I'll listen to the song again and see if I pick up Tom's influence. I was thinking it had a hillbilly rough rock sound from some night club across the tracks. The kind of place where 908ssp would be racing a Ducati around the parking lot. Kicking up gravel on Yamahas.

My third try to get the song better. "Dopey Girl" 3. I may be dopier than dopey girl on this song. At least I have a good memory of the girl/woman who showed up at Darwin's Blues Saturday night. Right out of the movies or a paperback novel. Mickey Spillane and Mike Hammer would have loved it.
