Your Art teacher must be jealous. But maybe he's also good at teaching. The works you've shown me were fantastic.

hmmm, Yoyo looks like Paul Gauguin. Limey Lad Yoyo might become Tahiti Yoyo.

I wish I had access to his subject matter.

That is just fantastic.  My sister is a fantastic painter and I have a couple of her pieces hanging in my barracks along with the Pink Floyd Back Catalogue.  I'm still a guy haha!

Thats an amazing painting. You are doing some superior details on that acrylic paint. Outstanding job, real beautiful. Keep it up! [:)]

Great painting... Don't worry about your teacher. Some art teachers are notoriously hard to please! When I took art classes, I often wondered how you could assign a numerical grade to a work of art. You are very talented, as your work clearly shows. Thanks for sharing that with us.

I have noticed that he has far more of a go at me than the others and realise that it's his way of pushing me. He is a good teacher and I only occasionally want to strangle him.
Thanks again folks for all the positive comments.

Yoyo, good trainers/teachers need to constantly push that boundary.  My trainers in the Army are the same way, I love them to death but I really want to hurt them quite badly at times.  They get the best out of me though, and there's nothing more gratifying than that!

Looks like you may be trying for effects that are accomplished best with oil rather than acrylic.

Alkyds stay mixable for longer than acrylics but dry much faster than oils and mostly fore go the mess and toxicity issues with the king of mediums (unless you get into egg tempera or pastel).

Alkyds--check 'em out. Or you can use acrylics in a sauna for that coveted blendability. As a last resort, there IS Tahiti....
