Bill,

That is one beautiful guitar.  Your wife's couch is lucky.  You are also a great photographer!  Those shots are spectacular!  Like others before me... I want to know... what's the story with Ken's autograph?  There's GOTTA be one...

I honestly wasn't trying to create suspence here. Its not that spectacular a story, just a lucky one. I'm not sure about the Mojo prototype theory, although it would be about that time. It was the personal guitar of a former empolyee of the Boston factory so I think he could have finished it out any way he wanted. He is a really nice guy and it was probably easy to get Ken to sign it back then. The serial number does say BMH but I've been assured otherwise?
I guess the headstock could be veneer but I've been emphatically assured otherwise there too?

I will try to get more specifics but I am not a collector(not intentionally anyway) and I don't ever plan on selling it, so I guess it doesn;t matter that much. I just enjoy playing it.

I got lucky with the photos too. Thanks everyone for the comments. The light was just right and a cold front pushed the haze from the sky. Now I wish I had taken more time composing the photos but I was in a hurry to finish as I felt a bit silly photographing a guitar and wanted to keep the dock space to myself for the task. And, after pawing this guitar non stop for days,  if the wife caught me photographing the thing on the soffa, I'd have to be waisting time and money on seeing a shrink! Well, we do need a Parker hotline.[:D]

Anyway, I feel guilty having such great guitars when I know most of you play them better and know more about them than me. But not that guilty because I sure do enjoy them [:D]

I LOVE the matching wood veneer headstock.  To me its much more appealing than the standard carbon fiber look. Parker ought to consider this for production or at least make it a option w/a upcharge.

That is the finest looking Parker I have seen yet!

Bill, I'm in total agreement here. I think you oughta share them, and I would like to help you out. I'm sure you'll feel better (at least not guilty) and thank me for it! It pains me to know your in such anguish, please don't even think about it - just get those guitars to me ASAP! [:o)]

Jamcat, down boy. [:D]  But I don't blame you for trying.

Musicman1, thanks. I think so too.

Simon, I did post photos (or rather Alex posted them for me) of this on the forum a long time ago because I wanted everyone to see it. Maybe thats where you remember seeing a photo. But I couldn't afford it at that time.

So now I have learned how to post a clip and a photo. Pretty good for a techno zero.

I am sure they would be more than happy to have you pay extra for that as a custom finish. The irony is that according to 908 and others who know these things, that satin finish is much cheaper to produce than the usual high gloss finish. [:0]

That is spectacular, lovely grain. I especially like the "eddy" area on the lower part of the upper bout. The natural stain is luscious; I also wouldn't mind seeing this pattern showing through blue, red, green, or even yellow tinting--but hey, leave it be in it's native glory.

I was gonna ask how you managed the matching headstock, as I tried to get the custom shop to match my headstock & body- they said it couldn't be done... Then I saw the signature on the side... things get a little clearer. Gorgeous!

Thanks Nigel. I have really enjoyed it. It has a mellower sound. Piezos sound good too. I dont have a pick guard on this one but I rarely use a pick with it and when I do, I play over the pups. I was afraid the cling vinyl guard would hurt the finish. I do use them on the gloss flys.

The action is high even with the bridge lowered, but thats OK because I usually keep this Fly tuned down to C# and if the action were lower it would probably buzz in dropped tune. The loose strings (9's) were a little sloppy at first but I have learned a lighter and more precise touch and it works fine this way without buzzing.

9's tuned down to C#? REALLY light touch!

You have inspired me to take some similar pics when the weather changes here in Seattle.

I am loving my 11's tuned to full pitch!
