Jason, I completely forgot about Coheed and Cambria!  No World for Tomorrow is my favorite cd of theirs thus far!

To be honest I can't recall if there is any album in 2007 I really liked. I've been listening to a ton of everything, though.

Lou, I had to go through my cds and check the dates or release on a few of mine to make sure.  I am caught in such a time warp that I most likely couldn't tell you 2007 from 1997.

Ha...I barely own any cds that were recorded this century, let alone this year.   I did discover Junior Kimbrough in 2007 though, and he's only been dead for 9 years.  That's not to say there isn't a lot of good new stuff out there...I'm just a little slow.

WHO'S ON FLY?
Costello: "Hey Abbot, that guitar is soooo fly, what is it?"
Abbot: "It's a Fly!"
Costello: "I know it's fly, I just told you.  But what kind of guitar is it?"
Abbot: "And I just told you - it's a Fly!"
Costello: "Here we go again!"

Southern Nitefly/Nitefly Mojo (non-stock pups).

jim,
yeah, the new co&ca disc is awesome!!! i can't get feathers out of my head.

they came through dallas a few weeks ago, and it was the best show i've seen them put on.  the addition of the keyboard player and the two girl backup singers really added a lot (and helped claudio through the night). plus, chris pennie is an amazing drummer!!!

Jason,

I just can't get over how much better they get with each album.  The storyline is immaculate, yet, each track exists on its own plane.  Popular bands like My Chemical Romance and Co&Ca have really impressed me with their ability to create concept albums and yet still have marketability.  Truly amazing.

I know that we are supposed to be talking about albums released in 2007, but I just can't seem to get past the older albums I picked up this year with Allan Holdsworth on them - "Sixteen Men Of Tain", "Heavy Machinery", "Live In Amsterdam 2000" (bootleg) and Chad Wackerman's "Forty Reasons" have been my favorites this year. All are very inspiring for a progressive fusion head like me. [:I]

Finally I found some music to  be my favorite album of year 2007. I think it is "Pity Girl" by Mary Magdalan, with "Naked To The Bones" by CompulsorySkin's PiaPale comming in second.

"Brainverms come crawling and creeping and eat you when you're sleeping."
