I fully understand peoples problems with her voice, the Youtube comments are rife with such opinions. I can't argue with subjectivity, we all have it. However I just ask that her songs be considered, never mind the voice.

Try this.. It's her song called Peach Plum Pear. Please spare me three minutes and thirty two seconds of your time where you listen to the song and read the lyrics below. Ostensibly it's a simple song about her, young and easily bruised, when her boyfriend goes off her. Within the framework of her pain she refers back to their initial immature lovemaking in the verse beginning "We were galloping manic...." and remember back to your early sexual encounters as a reference point when judging the teenage hurt expressed in the song as a whole. It's for reasons such as these I consider her an A list singer songwriter.

We speak in the store
I'm a sensitive bore
And you're markedly more
And I'm oozing suprise

But it's late in the day
And you're well on your way
What was golden went gray
And I'm suddenly shy

And the gathering floozies
Afford to be choosy
And all sneezing darkly
In the dimming divide

And I have read the right book
To interpret your look
You were knocking me down
With the palm of your eye

This was unlike the story
It was written to be
I was riding its back
When it used to ride me

And we were galloping manic
To the mouth of the source
We were swallowing panic
In the face of its force

And I was blue
I was blue and unwell
Made me bolt like a horse

Now it's done
Watch it go
You've changed some
Water ruin from the snow

Am I so dear
Do I run rare
You've changed some
Peach, plum, pear

I like Kate Bush better. Tell me this song doesn't sound like Kate?

Well I must admit I hadn't noticed it before Alex, but it does sound like Kate Bush. Kates best work stuns me. Anybody who can write a track like Wuthering Heights at age fourteen has got to be considered as something special. I thought I'd post my other favourite KB track here and if nixygirl, who put it on Youtube, is to be believed she wrote it even earlier.

O.k., I listened to the song and read the lyrics and I'm not going to say anything.

"Brainverms come crawling and creeping and eat you when you're sleeping."
