Interesting. Makes me wonder how well they transferred the technology. So fingerboard is composite but the rest of the neck isn't. Why not just use the NiteFly neck and different bodies and headstocks. Did they put the fretboard on when the guitar was under tension like they do with Flys and does the lack of carbon on the back affect the stability and precision of the Fly's?

From the article: "This year, Washburn launches the HM series, a new line of guitars specifically aimed at shredders."

I tend to gravitate toward shred (melodic shred, not the "look how many modes I can cram into a 12 bar solo" kind), but I can't imagine any shredder wanting to play one - blech!  So Washburn can learn how to make a fretboard from Parker, but not a good looking guitar?  I'll pass.

Shouldve kept on supplying those fretboards to Emerald guitars instead of putting them on those Pieces of bolagnae.

i think the razorbacks are hideous. I refuse to believe Dime had a hand in designing it. Now his washburn shape...that was sharp [;)]

Looks like a Kramer catalog from 1988.  Is this where the future of Parker is headed?  Gimmicks for Washburn to include on mediocre guitars?  The closest analogy I can come up with is running OS X on a Dell.

Well I think this is great. Look at the bright side they didn't put the Parker name on those. Thank the maker. I think it is great if they use the tech let's hope it works like that and that they do a good job and are a ripping success as that all rubs off well on Parker. On the other hand if they blow it here then that will rub off too. Good wishes to Washburn.

PS. I won't be buying one.
