6 Digit serial on a Fly Deluxe?
« on: March 20, 2005, 12:34:37 PM »
Just for kicks I wanted to see what year my Parker was made, so I was looking at the FAQ at Parker's main site, and they say that "Flys use 7-digit serial numbers," but mine is 6 numerical digits followed by two letters.  Can anyone help me out with this?  Here's my #
293117BP.  I've had it.. wow, 6 years now.  Thanks!

I think that's a typo since their example has 6 serial numbers (unless they are counting the letters as one digit or something). Anwyay, 293117BP breaks down:

293 = Made the 293rd day of the year
11 = The 11th guitar made that day
7 = Made in the year 1997
BP = Basswood neck / Poplar body. In other words, the model is a Parker Fly Deluxe.
