The Edge
« on: October 24, 2008, 07:05:41 PM »
While I'm here... How 'bout The Edge from U2? Being a teenager in the 80's U2 was one of my favorite bands and The Edge was essentially my first Guitar Idol, as it were.

I'm sure he tends to be a bit polarizing among guitarists... Not a 'shredder' to be sure, but very creative, melodic, atmospheric, and one who has perfectly worked within his limitations and I believe has even turned his weaknesses into strengths. I imagine there are those who criticize him and his sound as being too reliant upon and merely a product of the effects he uses but I would have to disagree.

What do you think?...

I could certainly see him getting alot out of a Parker but am uncertain whether he has used one before and to what extent. Would be interesting to find out.

If Edge wants a Parker I would give him one.
That man is an original.

I am sure he has a Parker as he like innovative things.
No doubt Parkers are innovative.

So tell me Parker factory veterans and/or new Washburn owners - does the Edge have a Fly.

At http://http://www..geocities.com/classicguitars/History/Parker-Fly-Deluxe.htmlhttp:// they mention The Edge as a player of Parker Guitars. ...There's a start... I wonder if he's ever recording any tracks with them. Intriguing.
