Thanks for the comments. I actually had to choose between a very nice 3 tone sunburst and this one. I thought long term this is a more "neutral" finish, and I like the clean appearance of the spruce. WIll try to post some more pics.

Very nice effect. Posted to Finishes Guide. What color is the back?

On a completely different look, what do you guys think of a Natural sitka with a Tangerine back faded around the sides to a burst effect on the top?

I love the idea but would rather see it done with rootbeer or something less bright.  Great idea.
