P-44V Piezo output level
« on: February 03, 2009, 06:22:36 PM »
Hello, I just purchased a P-44V (with the Parker bridge instead of the fulcrum)and I love it, but there's one thing that's really bothering me.
The piezo pickup sounds great but it has a LOT less output than the magnetic pickups so basically I can't level the outputs unless I'm playing with 2 amps separating the signal with the stereo cable.
When both volume knobs are all the way up, tha magnetic pickups sound a lot louder so when I switch to piezo you can really tell the difference, and I need to switch between them when I play live.
I saw a Nitefly manual online and it comes with a trim knob on the back plate to regulate the piezo gain and match the level of the humbuckers, is this an option on the P-44V? I wasn't able to find it after removing the back plate.
If someone knows anything about htis PLEASE let me know.
I love my guitar, and this is the only complaint I have, it has to be fixable. Thanks.
