Evolution is Excellent! I STILL like it. VERY Nice work Terry and Crew. I think a lot of us would probably like to have a custom version of whatever Fly we choose, so yep, I like an S3! But I also get the S2 and HH setups for the market positioning. This version looks a little more sensual to me, maybe that's why I like it :)

Oh it looks okay and that is very important in the world of guitar players and thus guitar marketing. Can't blame the company for wanting to appeal to a wide audience.
But in their eagerness to do that it might be that they've neglected the great models they inherited from Ken Parker. There was supposedly a revamping of the Nylon with improved electronics but I notice that Sweetwater doesn't list the Nylon these days, though there are 4 variations of the Belew, a number of versions of the Single Cutaway, the python flop, the 4 seasons, which I like as a finish variation BUT WHERE ARE THE WINTERS?, and Bronzes, which are probably out of stock.

Now I'm kind of a moron but I bet that if Parker sold me the rights to just the Bronze and the Nylon, I'd manage to crank out flawless examples in large numbers and waltz right by USM.

Of course I'd have to lure Chris, Alex, Paul, and some others onto my manufacturing team--fat chance of that....

We make custom Parkers here every day. Just this week I will be shipping two Adrians (One dusty black and one tangerine, all with the programming interface mod from Dennis), three midi mojos (One natural and two in taxi cab yellow), a bronze, two spanish, an artist and two artist hardtails with custom wiring as well as all of the other standard off the shelf Flys. If there is an order on the system for one, we build it. If you want another Fly with custom specs like special pickup configurations, unpainted nut, your personal wood used in the construction etc., we will get it built for you. Any credit worthy orders forthcoming from you guys? I promise I'll watch it all the way through the system and make delivery prompt!

Love the 22 frets and HSS.
Are the frets Fly or Nitefly frets?

I'll buy one.  How soon can you make me one?

Gad, Billy! I'm guitarred up at the moment pretty much.

If I start up a guitar magazine maybe you'd lend me some of that stuff for review purposes.
It might be something like

The Gitbox Rattler

available by prescription only. Price? Rolls Roycey....

Man I love the looks of that S3, Alex.

I would not know about the tone as I've never played an S3.

Could anyone describe the tonal uses of an S3 ?

I love the way the tobacco burst turned out.

How Much ?

How about stocking your dealers with the regular models?
According to the Parker website's dealer page there are now but 7 Parker authorized dealers in the Western U.S.--I typed in my zip code and it listed 7 stores, out to one in Salt Lake City, 763 miles away.
The 3 that are in the SF Bay Area are recent additions; the old ones (B Street Music, Guitar Showcase, Antones, etc.) are no longer listed. There are no links to websites at the stores listed and I was wondering if they have any Parker inventory. There's about 10 million people in a 50 mile radius of me but the stores are all 35 or more miles away. I could phone, but I prefer to get some info upfront via the 'net.

That's what I've always liked about what you all are doing, you just get it done, whatever it is! Much kudos to making it work and making great products. I have always thought it funny for people to drool over the custom guitar and then tell you what they want to pay for it :) Saving my pennies still, but will have an order someday for what I want and I know it will be done perfectly. THANKS.

Can't say I like the guitar too much, or the direction Parker has been heading in. [:(]

The direction? More USA Flys ? I'd say that is a good one to be headed in. I hope there is a place for both models. The market will decide soon enough.

Meanwhile, I applaud USM/Parker for this effort.
Have you heard of any other company expanding US models of any kind in anything lately ? Is Parker really shipping out that many custom Flys in this economy? Man that is fantastic. Workers around here are jumping like fleas off a dead dog. Way to go Parker !

That guitar is more traditional, but still gorgeous. I would love to try it.

I dont know if I want an S3 or a SSH ?

BillyT, is that guitar spruce?

Please keep the pics coming.

(Watch your pots and dont paint the nuts. Good luck.)

I like them all. The body is nice. Iy looks like a Parker. I prefer the standard Fly headstock though. The new headstock base just looks 'manipulated'. Maybe in person, 3-D, I'll get along with that better(?) We'll see. It just seems unnecessary and a bit less artistic, IMO. The hell with stock guitar hangers~
