Title: PM 20

OK then, I'll go first...

My 2005 PM 20.
Red trans Bubinga cap. (Apparently a limited run colour according to American Music)

The only thing changed since these pictures of the original configuration are the pickups. I swapped the Stingers out for GFS Fat Pats in 2011. Nothing wrong with the Stingers. The GFS's are Alnico 5's also, and very nice sounding pups, but a touch hotter.

A beautiful design, excellent build quality, and a pleasure to play. Love it!
The two knob controls are much easier to deal with than the standard Les Paul layout. (Both are Push-Pull for single coil cut)

I think they made a mistake in not keeping this in the Parker lineup.

Here's my 2005 Mappa Burl Limited Edition in sunburst, one of four colors created in runs of only 100 each. Right after they came out, I was able to try one of each during one afternoon, and they were super-consistent right out of the box, both in playability and tone, and so I picked this one based purely upon the looks. (And that by only a very slim margin cuz each was really beautiful.)

BTW, here's another interesting thread on the PM-20s LEs:   http://forums.parkerguitars.com/index.php/topic,16831.0.html

Mostly on the topic here...  I definitely do like the stock Stinger pickups on my PM-20, but every now and then I wonder about possibly swapping them for something else. IME, the Stingers have a unique tonal quality and response somehow—a good reason to keep them, I know—but still, I wouldn't mind their overall tonality to work with more songs I play. And so I wonder...

Question: The pickup recesses as well as the mounting tabs of the Stingers are triangular in shape, but most replacement pickups out there seem to have squared shapes, including (at least) the current build of your GFS Fat Pats. AFAICT.

Barry: Did you somehow reshape your Fat Pats, or were older models triangular? TIA.

Yeah, I took a Dremel grinder to the GFS mounting tabs. Didn't take long to reshape them. No issues at all.
p.s. I love the look of that burled finish on yours. What a shame these were discontinued. They're beautiful to look at, superbly designed, and play like butta!

I won’t post a picture of my ‘08 3x3 PM20 Pro but imagine the blackest glossy paint job (automobile or guitar) you have ever seen and that’s it.
As black as a black hole and as glossy as a freshly waxed hearse are good descriptors.
It’s the only black guitar I own because it’s really nice with the abalone binding and a phenolic fingerboard.
The thing plays like a dream and sounds like jazzy singing angels.
It also puts LP’s to shame, but then Parker’s put most guitars to shame imho.
Cheers
