Title: Where are you from?
Post by: Noodler on May 20, 2012, 10:12:52 PM
After a couple years on this forum, I can't say that I know of any other Parker players in my area of the world.  So I thought, "why not start a thread where everyone can tell where they're from?"

So obviously I'll start...

I live and work in the Denver, Colorado metro area.  I'm on the South side of the city (in the land of "suburbia").  I'm not a pro, but I've been playing on and off for about 25 years.

I'm in Graz, Austria.

You're a forum regular and are about to visit Graz (however unlikely, but still)? Tell me early enough and we can meet for a jam.
If it's a few nights and you don't like hotels I might even have a room, no charge for Parker players (think guitar surfing instead of couch surfing).

Greetings...
Nef

I'm a bit timid of personal info on the internet so I try to keep a low profile. It amazes me how much personal info people are willing to reveal to strangers about themselves and family via facebook. I try to keep my music identity and personal identity separate.

Although I think the Parker forum folks are a great lot, and I'd love to meet many, anything posted here is open to the public. This forum is a cut above the usual childish head banging drug bragerts of other forums, but its still public. I'm not as much of a free spirit as I was in my younger days I guess. i'm usually busier than I want to be.

That said, I've had a great time talking on the phone with several members and had a blast meeting and playing with one a few years ago. (Glad to see you back, BTW).

Nef or anyone coming from afar toward the Southeast Coastal US, PM me and we'll talk.

Fine, fine... I´ll put something in here as well.

Amersfoort, the Netherlands

But that´s most likely going to change into Stavanger, Norway some day soon. (there´s a story here but I´ll save it for another time)

Don´t have jamming facilities, but we could always go have a beer or something somewhere.  ;)

Hi, I'm Luke! I like in Netherlands, Rotterdam! I'm newbie in this forum, and it's my first visit here. I've already seen a lot of shares about Parker guitars. Nice place to meat good people and know more about Parker guitars. Mine is P42 with replaced Seymour Duncan Blackouts pickups.  :)
Good work horse I would say:)

Oddly enough, I'm also from Denver, Colorado.

Denver is the only city on this thread with three responses, yet the only Parker dealer in Colorado is GC, and they don't even stock them.

I've seen tons of local bands, and don't remember ever seeing anyone play any Parker onstage.

Yet there is apparently a thriving underground Parker community here.  It's just that none of us know about it.

If anyone's interested, the first meeting of the Denver Parker guitar Club or Whatever will be next Wednesday, 01/21/2015.

I'm in Aberdeen, Scotland. Parker players are very thin on the ground in this neck of the woods!

taxguy-in the 90s singer song writer cary morin, atoll, played parkers exclusively out of ft. collins, where Rob at Applewood music was a huge proponent.

cary has moved on to solo acoustic finger style blues ala robert johnson ect-fantistic.  best voice your gonna hear for a long way. a real pro

Im not sure if there are as many trial offers as there were years ago but Im sure there are still some trial offers out there.  The offers may vary from site to site.  So I guess, it will all depend on the sites you choose to look at.
