I had a lot of fun making up "the legend" and the layouts to go with these very special instruments. Did anyone notice the homage to Ken Parker personally?

Really nice, the reverse color on the back was a neat idea. No electronics and light weight, I would have bought one of those when I was buying guitars.

How do you decide which of them to play?

Just now, I am setting all three out on stands and changing back and forth between them to enjoy and learn the tone distinctions. (It is surprising to me that I can feel the 6 oz. differences in their weights.)

Generally, I sort of rotate through them, similar to Simon's approach and depending upon my mood.

They all look great but Loki has the weight, or lack of, that I'd prefer. [;)]

My heavens, zooks what a naughty YOU ARE A VERY NAUGHTY sneak and creating much envy across the forum.

So
did you deal directly with BillyT or have to go through a dealer?
Did they all get delivered at the same time? You probably answered at least one of those questions but I kind of raced through all the name stuff. Kind of reminds of me of the Stormfrontdotorg jive, but oh well. Hell, I'm of Norwegian heritage through and through so I kin mock the gods of the Norsemen. Haha. Hey, now I don't feel so good....

That's an incredible set of guitars. Artistically sound concept and well executed. Really well done by all concerned! Terry and crew delivered a very nice trio, and I love the thought and passion that went into it as a project. I've been quietly wondering what you've been up to... And here it is. Well, you have amazed me, sir. Well thought out, and very well executed, Terry.

What finish is on the cedar?

Mark,

They are all three in a satin finish.

Hey, Chris

I noted that, but I think it's the photo - the headstock looks more cedar-like in tone, while the body almost looks stained, and it's darker and wider grained than any cedar wood guitar I've seen. Still, it's my favorite of the three.

Both pieces are the Natural finish, e.g. clear. The peghead veneer is more uniform in color and a tad lighter than most of the body. The body is a tight, straight grain, though, just like on my cedar Bronze, but has the gradations in tone streaked through it. Also, most of it is darker than my Bronze: the overall darkness of the body is darker toward the upper side and quite light - lighter than the peghead veneer - toward the edge of the lower side of the lower bout.

What I had in mind when I spec'd the order was the wood on my Bronze, but I didn't think to be specific. Still, I'm happy with what they chose: the streaking adds some interest where a broad expanse of satin-finished light wood may have been a bit plain. (But then how do I explain how good the spruce turned out?!?)

Should prove most interesting.

Thanks for the kind comments. Yeah, I saw Bill's satin mahogany here a couple years ago, and it really made an impression on me. I'll get some grain-close-up shots up here for you before long.

For Nefarius, here are some close-ups of the wood grain on Thor (Mojo):

(I had originally thought that the peghead was displaying the neck stock, which is also mahogany. I have been told by the shop  that this, too, is an overlay. Apparently, the encapsulation of the peghead in the glass/carbon layers is necessary for all of the other joints in that area to fit well.)

Do these all get fairly equal play time?

If not, please send me the loneliest one. I promise to give it oodles of attention.

Funny, since I've seen Luke's metallic green dargie delight guitar (Falling In Between live), I've been thinking about that color on a Parker. Some hyopothetical distant future custom project maybe? Combined with my fade-finish idea? Metallic green to taxi cab yellow fade on a custom... *drooooool* [;)]

Marco,

These are beautiful instruments. you are a Parker-Hero for making the purchase. I imagine that 100 years from now guitar collectors will talk at length about--and try to assemble for their own collections--your triad of guitar perfection. Take care of 'em, buddy!

I was wondering if you had any closer-up shots of Odin. I am a big fan of spruce guitars. Thanks!

Great stuff! But the distortion in the photo at the top of the page is a bit extreme and gives new meaning to the term 'bending strings'. ;)

Thanks for the kind comments. I have been away from home for several weeks, but am back now and will try to get some close-ups of Odin up here soon.

[I have just checked my image files: I do not have any better close-up shots on file. I have uploaded an enlargement of an image used in the layout above. I hope that it will give you some satisfaction for now. For various reasons, I will not be able to take any additional photographs for the time being. Sorry. If this situation changes, I will get some posted into this thread.]

There are rumors that Valkyries are in flight to reclaim the axes. Perhaps these three war-hammers must be present at the unfolding of gotterdammerung...
